Kråkeslottet is a gem of a place located at Bøvær Senja.
The owner and “king of the castle” is Georg, an amazing person and dancer.
We try to visit Kråkeslottet one weekend per semester. We spend the days dancing, talking, enjoying good food and drinks, go for hikes, take sauna and the most daring jump in the ocean.
Every spring semester we also spend some time helping Georg do some maintenance on the castle as a gratitude for letting us come there and enjoy the amazing place.
The exact dates will be released shortly after the beginning of each semester, stay tuned!
Practical info:
Accommodation: There are several bedrooms with different numbers of beds, maximum number of guests is 27. Is it highly appreciated if you bring a towel and sleeping bag or bedsheets, but there is also a possibility to “rent” at the site for a smal extra fee.
Food: We usually bring our own drinks (soda and/or alcohol) and food for breakfast and lunch (cereal, bread etc.), but we make dinner together on Friday and Saturday evening. Usually a couple of us make a meal plan and do the shopping, but everyone chip in for the dinner (both economical and cooking).
How to get there: The best option is to join someone and drive there together (it is about 4,5 hour drive from Tromsø). Another option is to take the boat from Tromsø to Finnsnes or Lysnes (approximately 1-1,5 hour), and from there take the bus to Skaland (approximately 2 km from the location) or arrange with someone to pick you up.
